    • Most of the templates this year have been unusable for me. What I need are more templates that I can use for businesses and churches.

How about two templates a month. One that can be used in a more professional manner, and the other for the gamers or people that like flowers and explosions in the background.

We could all be happy then.

    • Actually, you'd be amazed how flexible most of the recent templates are if you simply remove bits or use your own backgrounds. Take Hybrid for instance...for some reason I missed that one of the preset headers was a nice wood flooring. Remove a few unneeded bits of eye candy and you've got the start of a nice church site. Same with this month, I can see going back to the standard drop menus and removing some of the extra visual patterns and then putting my own background in the header.

I do dig everything below the fold in hybrid, so perhaps we can talk Boy Wonder into taking Hybrid to the RT labs and releasing a bonus one month like he used to from time to time! :)

    • Yeah I understand that most of us can do the edits, but just from a "Off the Shelf" perspective, didn't do much for me.

And Terp I agree I like the Below the fold in Hybrid....may have to check it out again with a low body level.

    • It really only takes about 2 seconds to tweak this. See screenshot :)

The complaining about designs ready to eat fascinates me, given that RT includes back-end controls that expand the notion of off the shelf.

On the other hand, there is room for reasonable complaints about the existing configuration options. Three of my dissatisfactions:

      (1) restriction to 960px - which ignores a variety of important business applications,

      (2) no toggle for switching between 12- and 16-column formats, and

      (3) the inability to easily calculate column widths off a fixed point of reference - as in a sidebar of fixed width.

However, the larger point remains. The new templates are highly configurable even with some severe limitations. All one needs is imagination and some sweat equity.

    • Rockettheme, to me, remains the best template provider for Joomla. There were some promising templates offered by other companies, however, I have always returned to Rockettheme for my templates.

    • WOW!!!! I LOVE the new template!!!! I have to go back and look some more but at first glance it looks terrific for the kinds of sites I'm called upon to build.

      A great big thank you!
