Possibly one of the most frequently asked questions we receive at RocketTheme is, "Do you have a good template for ________?" It's a good question, and one that can have many different answers, depending on the individual needs of the user.
We strive at RocketTheme to design templates, themes, and styles that are flexible enough to be used in a variety of situations. Our demos serve as an example of what a template is capable of, but is certainly not the limitation of that design's flexibility.
In fact, any Gantry template we design can be modified very easily to take on a dramatically different look and overall style.
That said, RocketTheme provides several tools to help you find the template that is perfect for your project. In this article, we will take a look at some of these tools.
The demo wrapper we put on our template and theme demos makes it easy to not only navigate between designs, but to see how they look using different color presets.
Once you have arrived at a demo, for example the one for Chimera, you can use the demo wrapper to select different platforms, including: Joomla, WordPress, phpBB, or Magento.
From there, you can click the template button (listed as Chimera in the image above) and scroll through the various templates or themes available for that platform.
Once you've found one you'd like to have a better look at, just give it a click and the page will reload to that demo. The colored circles enable you to cycle through color presets included with the template or theme, enabling you to see what different color schemes and image selections look like with the design.
On our more recent templates for WordPress and Joomla, we have included a variety of page demos with each template to give you an idea of how the template looks with various common site arrangements.
If you plan to use the template to create a developer's portfolio, a company site, or even a traditional blog, you can see a real-world example of the template being used to create these looks.
While the front page of a demo is a showcase of the design's capabilities, these pages give users a better idea of how their site could look with minor changes on the backend.
If you would like a quick way to check out the preset options that come with templates, you can easily access them from the main templates list for the given platform.
For example, if you are looking for a Joomla template, you can click on Joomla in the main menu of RocketTheme.com and Templates.
This will take you to a page that displays all of our available templates. As you move your mouse cursor over a given template, you are given several options including Presets which pops up the preview pane, giving you the ability to quickly scroll between large preview images of the various included template presets.
This is a great way to get an idea for how your site could look, before you dive in to the demo or make your decision.
RocketTheme has one of the largest and most active user communities in the business. If you're not sure which template to use for your next project, you can always reach out via our forums and ask the community.
Often, they will have examples of their own projects used with a template or theme that met their needs.
The Member Showcase area of our forums is a great place to find inspiration, and see what others have accomplished using RocketTheme products.
Our team of moderators and developers is also active on the forums, and we are happy to provide some of our own insight, as well.
Whatever your project might be, RocketTheme is honored to be considered as your template or theme provider. The powerful Gantry Framework makes our templates and themes as flexible as you need them to be, ensuring that virtually every aspect of a design can be easily changed and managed to meet your needs.
We also provide many of our designs across all of our supported platforms, including: Joomla, WordPress, phpBB, and Magento. This enables you to keep the same look on your main site as you do on your forum, or sister sites.
