    • Hi all,

      I installed a frsh install of Joomla today (1.7.3), and installed the latest Gantry (3.2.13).
      I tried all combinations (lib + template, bundle), but I haven't managed to get it working.

      Installation is reported as gone ok. However, the component does not appear on the admin menu, and the templates section is empty.

      Doing a discovery of uninstalled components, I see the Admin component as uninstalled. If I install it, the component appears on the Admin menu, but does not work (XML string cannot be parsed).

      Any ideas?

    • After checking the thread: "GANTRY ADMIN - troubleshooting tips",
      I saw that my php installation was missing DOM support. After installing it, the template manager works, but the Admin component still throws an error:

      500 - An error has occurred.

      String could not be parsed as XML

      Return to Control Panel

    • Maybe there isn't supposed for the Admin component to be installed?
      I see that the template has all the options I see in the tutorials...

    • hi there,

      there should be no gantry entry in the administrator's component menu because it is not needed.
      it's a bug in joomla 1.6/7 that causes this entry under certain circumstances.

      you can ignore that entry or if it bothers you then you can delete it through your database.
      in your database go to jos_menu (jos could be different in your install) and search (browse) for the com_comgantry (or com_gantry) entry (not sure which one it is as i do not see it on my own install). then delete it.

      please take a backup of your database first though.
