Migrate Gantry 4 to Gantry 5 with JomSocial

- I have a website that has been in operation for several years with a JomSocial integration. Granted, our community is relatively small and not very active, but we are reluctant to give it up. However, we would like to move our site to a Gantry 5 platform. It seems like a daunting task that would include carefully moving database tables and file folders into a new site. Is there an efficient way to migrate from a Gantry 4 to a Gantry 5 template without redoing the site from scratch? I understand the significant differences and know that there will be some work involved, but I would like to figure out how to make this migration without losing my JomSocial community. Please advise.

- Gantry 4 and Gantry 5 Templates are not compatible ... so you will need to set the site from start, you don't need to lose the JomSocial basically you need to make a duplicate version of the site, you just add a Gantry 5 Extension in and a Template and start the work on a new site when its finished you can imort new users into the dev site sync content and that's it if the jomsocial have the tools for syncing or simply transfer the mysql tables in from the production to development database....
