The third party file keeps changing the layout so I wrote some code in my custom file to counteract this.

The custom CSS isn't the problem, it's solving the problem. It's a bit like answering a question rather than copying and pasting you know. It helps.

Your missing the point entirely by arguing this point with me. It maybe all you need is an !important attribute added to your custom CSS which would prevent this from happening.
However there seems to be an issue about you presenting me with info on your custom CSS file???

The more information I have about your issue helps me in resolving it ;)

      Thanks.

Okay so looking now I see an image on the right that 202px by 141px - I take it this is the correct version?

    • Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this, I've been busy.

Here's what I saw a few moments ago when I looked at the site using a browser that hadn't viewed the site before on a system I've just had built:

      prntscr.com/6x19xv

I then uploaded the following file to overwrite the one on the server:

      ../templates/rt_hexeris/css-compiled/thirdparty-k2.css

      And I see this:

      prntscr.com/6x1apg

No idea what's happening or why but it's frustrating as hell.

Okay, another kick at the can ;)

You install our Hexeris template on your site and everything looks good.

Then you decide you want to use K2 and all your articles get converted and the "thirdparty-k2.css" gets enabled which then proceeds to override some of our styling with its own :(

No problem as we then create Custom CSS to OVERRIDE "thirdparty-k2.css" and get the original look back.

As it stands now as I look at your page output the smaller image is displayed as its the thumbnail for the larger image which gets displayed in a modal window when you click the thumb. So I think your issue is a setting in that K2 item.

    • Hi Dan

That file only exists with this Rocket Theme template. The template appears to be creating that and a whole bunch of other CSS files.

Is there a way to disable this in the template...?

Yes you can turn thirdparty-k2.css off in Admin -> Template Manager -> Advanced TAB -> K2 styling

What I don't understand is why you refuse to take my advice?
Turning off thirdparty-k2.css won't help you a bit because k2.css is still active and you CAN'T turn that off as thats part of K2.

Even you deleted ALL the k2.css it still wouldn't help you because you've set that item to be a thumb (the small image you see) that opens a modal window - so there is NO way of CSS'ing around that.

    • Sorry Dan but your last post contained no advice, just a summary repeating what I had posted.

If you'd care to summarise the advice I'd be more than happy to review.

      Good idea:

Your goal is a large picture above the text and NOT the modal thumb floated to the right of the text - correct???

    • No, the opposite actually...

The thing is, it's using the smaller image and blowing it up in size so it looks terrible.

Ideally I want the smaller image there, not the larger version.
