Trying to customize grunge with different images, etc.

    • Howdy,
I'm absolutely loving this template as a basis for creating something else. It has all the functionality I was looking for.

      Here's my site: www.theCHT.org

I'm having difficulty customizing the images and spacing of things. I know CSS somewhat. I'd say I'm at the lower-intermediate level, which is probably why I'm having difficulty here.

I'm trying to replace some of the grunge images with others, which have slightly different spacing. So, for instance: The top portion of my background image for the area that would encompass the "top-a", etc. positions seems to be either shrinking the image I'm using (because the light portion should be approximately 95pixels tall, out of the full 476 pixel height of the image but is only displaying about half that height at the top) or it's positioning it above the top margin to start. Because of the positioning of that top portion, the logo doesn't sit properly, and the mainmenu & showcase start too high up as well.

When I look at the template preview in the admin area, it also appears that the top-a section is no longer aligned with top-b, etc.

Also, I've tried to replace the background color of the wood/rust-color behind the "showcase" with an image called bg_date_light.jpg, and have even changed the hex color. But nothing seems to be actually making a change in there. I don't even HAVE the wood.jpg image in the style1.css anywhere, and yet it still shows up for me (I've cleared the cache a few times).

One other item: In the area with the mainbottom_a area, I want the information there to stretch across the entire space (I only have one module assigned to the mainbottom section), but it's remaining just in that "a" space.

I think if I could get assistance with these items, which I suspect are fairly simple though I'm just plain missing them somewhere, that I'd be good to go with getting the rest taken care of.

      Thanks SO much in advance!

    • Really becoming monumentally frustrated with my attempts at re-styling this template. I haven't changed the path for the logo in the style1.css at ALL, and now, all of a sudden, the Gantry logo is floating there instead of the one called in the css. And for the LIFE of me, I canNOT figure out why the background seems to be sitting above the top margin line.

I really need some assistance here, please.

    • Trying again for a little help here...

Here's a screenshot of my site preview, to show what I mean by "top-a" appearing lower than the others. I don't know how to resolve this. I tried moving the logo up into the drawer, which fixed things a little, but i couldn't figure out how to add a background image to the entire drawer width. My template was getting more and more screwed up so I started back at square one with making modifications to it. This screenshot demonstrates where I'm at right this minute.

I'm kind of under a time-crunch right now, and still having trouble getting this figured out.
