Grunge FP problems in IE8

Hey everyone,
I did a search, looked through some post and didn't find anything on this...
the website is here

It looks as it should in FF & Chrome but in IE the front page styles are all jacked up and blown out. If I navigate to any other page it looks correct, but go back to the home page the {main} background is missing and the modules text is blown up. I set the browser to Compatibility mode but this did not resolve it.
As it is only the home page I'm at a loss today.
