RokBox for external URL menu item

- I wan't to link an external URL with a menu item and have that page pop up in a RokBox. I've researched this on the interwebs for an hour now and i've only found bad news. Is it still not possible?

After I edit the link in the database my added quotes are being interpreted as html quotes on the web page like this:
<a href="http://myurl/here" data-rokbox data-rokbox-caption="My Caption" target="_blank" >My Link</a>

That link isn't the format that sould be used. Are you using the one in the guide?

I thought I was using the right format.
I have an External URL Menu Item. Let's suppose the URL I want to pop up is www.rockettheme.com/ .
So, in the link dialog box I should have:
www.rockettheme.com " data-rokbox data-rokbox-caption="Whatever Caption I Want
Is that Correct? I assume I can change the caption to whatever I want.
Then after saving, Joomlsa strips the quotes so then I have this left in the link dialog box:
www.rockettheme.com data-rokbox data-rokbox-caption=Whatever Caption I Want
Then, I search my database for my menu item and find it in myprefix_menu. Then I edit the link there to read:
www.rockettheme.com " data-rokbox data-rokbox-caption="Whatever Caption I Want
Save. Right?
The guide has some broken image links so maybe i'm reading it out of context.
