SOLVED Joomla 3 Update Error: 1054

Hello,
I received a joomla update error 1054 when I upgraded a Joomla 2.5 afterburner 2 template to Joomla 3.3.6. I searched the forums and found that in most cases there is an error with the database. However, when I click fix (Extension - database- fix), I still receive the same error.
I also tried unisntalling third party apps like akeeba and flexicontact plus, but still have no luck.
I am running a local site right now with the latest gantry and afterburner 2 updates. Apache/2.4.9 PHP/5.5.1.

- Well did you tried looking in the database does Extension with id 700 exists?

I did some further digging and found on the akeeba forum that this error is usually caused by extra files in the FoF folder. There are two different FOF extensions, one you cannot remove, and the other you can.
Following the directions from this link , I found the extra php files, manually deleted, and presto!
I am writting the solution in case anyone else has this probelm. I spent a lot of time until I finally found it. Hope this helps
