    Afterburner: Module Width Bug?

Posted 15 years 5 months ago
    • On the homepage I'm using a module in position: right (see pic below):

On subpages I'm not using a module in the 'right' position.

The problem is that the template still uses the 'right' module position's width, even when it's not there. It causes the User 1 and User 2 module to be jammed into the left hand side of the page even though the module in the 'right' position is not used on the page(see pic below).

Is there a way to get around this issue? Ultimately I'd like the User 1 and User 2 module positions to take up 50% of the page each.

Unfortunately, you have to be logged into the VPN to see the site but I will provide any info that is necessary to address the issue!

      Thanks for your patience.

      Respectfully,
      EJ

    • hi there,

do you have any other modules published to the right, even if those are disabled?

    • hi kat!

There are other modules in the right position however they are all disabled. The only one enabled is the sponsors block (see image above).

I believe the problem is associated with line 138 in the CSS:
      .spacer.w49 .module {width:354px;}

This space is set in the Template Manager under 'Right Column Width' (I think). The problem with this is it should collapse if that module position is not used?

If I change this width it works on the subpage but screws up the homepage.

      Thanks kat!

      EJ

PS I've read a LOT of your tutorials, thank you for your hard work!! (I haven't had the opportunity to personally thank you yet) :cheesy:

    • hey ej,

the only thing i can suggest at the moment without seeing the site myself is, that you check all the other modules published to the right and either delete them or assign another module position for them EVEN IF THEY ARE UNPUBLISHED AT THE MOMENT.

i have seen a case or 2 where that actually fixed the problem.
