SOLVED Sorry, we have no imagery here

    • Hi,
I am using Phoca Maps component to render Google maps (satellite view) on many of my pages.
Several weeks ago the maps stopped working and now just say 'Sorry, we have no imagery here'
I have been talking to Phoca as well as Google, and according to the latter it comes down to this:
Kindly note that this is a known issue regarding the usage of custom polyfills and the usage of the "Array.from()" method which is currently conflicting with the rendering of the tiles from the Google Maps Platform. You should be able to see the following error message if you check the JavaScript Console of the webpage where you are using the map, the message is highlighted in red:

"This site overrides Array.from() with an implementation that doesn't support iterables, which could cause Google Maps JavaScript API v3 to not work correctly.

But the above issue is several years old, and my problem only started about three weeks ago.

Others suggested it is a 'MooTools' issue that I should solve with the Jquery plugin. I don't use mootools (I think) and don't even know what it is. But I installed the Jquery ease plugin and messed around with it for a bit.
I found a setting in the Mootools tab to disable it when possible. I tried it and it seems to be working fine now, but I don't know its effect on the rest of my site....
Could it be an issue with the Gantry framework I am using in combination with my Rockettheme template?

I have turned off Jquery for now so that the problem is visible on i.e. this page

      Joomla 3.10.3
      PHP 7.4.24
      Template Protean 1.2.0
      Gantry 5.5.4

      Thanks for your help!!

    • Our old rt extensions use MooTools but hopefully you are not using those in a g5 site. Make sure that the frameworks atom in the base outline > page settings does not have mootools enabled.

    • Thanks for the quick reply Mark!

As far as old RT extensions, I had Rok Gallery still there, and have now uninstalled it, as well as RokCandy, as I wasn't using it.
Remaining RT stuff is as follows:

RokBox, RokInjectModule, RokAjaxSearch, RokCommon, RokNavMenu, RokPad, RokSprocket, RokBooster and RokExtender

Also uninstalled various other comnponents, modules and plugins as they were just clogging up space

I also verified that MooTools wasn't enabled in the Base Outline, which it wasn't.

Unfortunately nothing I did sofar changed the issue :-(
The JS console does show the below; don't know what it means but apparently it is Gantry related, which by the way I just upgraded to 5.5.5.

DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for museumships.us/media/gantry5/assets/js/main.js.map : HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

I did notice that, if I enable the Jquery Easy plugin, and tell it to disable MooTools, the Google maps Satellite view works again, but then the slideshow on the homepage stops working unless I add an exception for it in the Jquery plugin

Don't know where to go from here, and understand it is not really a RT issue, but so far I haven't gone wrong asking on the RT forum!
      Thanks again for your insight!!

    • Mootools is still being loaded on that page because you are using rokbox. Don't use rokbox - use "lightcase" instead in a G5 project.

    • Well, I said it yesterday:
I haven't gone wrong asking on the RT forum!

And it proves to be true, as now that I have uninstalled RokBox, everything works like a charm!

      Thanks so much Mr. T
      Happy Thanksgiving!
