Module instance vs Module position

Hello,
please allow me to ask a rather silly question.
What is better to use in the layout? Module instance or a module postion? Is there any diffirence in perfomance between theese two?

A position gives you a place you can assign various modules to on various pages where that outline is assinged... the instance only loads a specific module within the outline - SEARCH the forum first! These boards are rich in knowledge and vast in topics. This includes searching just the 'Solved' forums, using Google, and using ChatGPT
