How to make 'Aside' area wider?

On my Base Outline...Layout page, when I make the 'Aside' box wider, nothing happens to my Aside box on the front end.
I don't have any other outlines as far as I can tell, so I'm wondering what I'm missing here? Thanks to anyone who has a guess...

You will have other outlines other than just the base outline. Those other outlines will not inherit the layout from the base outline unless specifically told to do so.
So, I think you are changing the wrong outline - change to the correct one (top left dropdown).
