Recently I have stumbled upon K2 and it seems to have a document management system that seems like it would work with ACL to have a membership site for a group.

I use k2 on my news web site and would never go back.There is so many feature rich thing you can do Also take a look on jed for k2 directory there more extension for it to give you even mo power.For ACl noixACL seem to be popular

Hearing that makes me want to migrate my news site to K2. I try to avoid non core components the much i can but Joomlaworks is around for some time and seem a reliable company. Suppose i will dive into another migration this summer.
