i need a favor to ask .. specially from ppl with imagination .. cuz i lack it

this is a website im building for a company and they want it to be simple ..

it is simple but the problem is its too white and i think its boring and i want to add some life to it

what im missing is a newsflash .. and the frontpage is done..

the pictures ofcourse should be fixed

but this is the general look of the website .. what can be done so i get it to not look dead ? i can't add event or pictures cuz the company doesnt have cuz its a new one .. the content is limited to what seeing now in the frontpage and the only thing missing is a newsflash module ..

please advice .. changing colors maybe ? the picture can be next to something ?

    • Well, you can't make an omelet with one egg... :)

If that's all the content you have received from your client, there's really not much you can do...

A couple of points, I wouldn't use bold for the default font, the norm is to use it to highlight important text, it look a little heavy.

You have two 'Home' menus in your navigation.

If that is all the content you have, or you don't plan to offer more content to registered users, or use their details for future contact, for the time being, I don't see the purpose of a login.

I think you need to push your client for more content, text, pictures, etc. there'really nothing there.

(Again, you can only work with what your client gives you, but you could make this entire site with three HTML pages.)

You could consider adding a few Module to the site to make it look a bit more 'alive', e.g., RokWeather, a visitor counter, etc.

    • I think it's a nice site given the purpose of it. Perhaps you could impress upon your client they should consider writing (at the very least) a few articles explaining the following in more detail:
what they do (that's an article),
who they do it for (another article),
a testimonial or two from happy clients (could be many articles),
what they have been doing lately (a NEEDED article given today's climate over gas/oil or other utility companies (think BP!),
Could have a separate article for each TYPE of service they offer and
WHY someone should seek them out.
Make a profile page on WHO the top execs/owners/stockholders are in their company and finally.
WHERE are they located? There's no contact information I can see.

One thing I would NOT do is make every page the same. You'll lose visitors real quickly on that, although I'm sure you are frustrated at this point with no info to populate the site.

It's always best to have just one GOOD page instead of several LOUSY ones, or worse, redundant.

Otherwise, nice site but seriously lacking on content. Maybe the above will help guide them into creating some kind of content. After all, we make the site... it's up to them to populate it... unless you're getting paid extra. If so, read up on the industry itself and where the company fits in so you can get the ideas flowing.

      Good luck!
      Carol
