Can anyone recommend good Joomla hosting?

    • I am working on a large project that will launch 50 websites by the end of next year and we need to host them on different servers around the world to help with SERPS. I use Host Gator and love it...can anyone recommend a hosting plan that is similar to HG with CPANEL, VPS, etc.?

    • I have a VPS with these guys. They're pretty good and I have a few Joomla sites on my server. No big problems since I've been with them for the last 8 months.

      liquidweb.com

They offer 24hr support, Cpanel, Fantastico, WebMail etc.

Worth a gander. I don't even know what the average price for a VPS is but I can tell you I pay around $100 a month.

    • Afaik, Hostgator is supposed to be the best out there. I personally use Bluehost. So far no complaints. Great Support. Had no issues with Joomla at all. So, if not HG, then I would go to Bluehost.

You can go with Rochenhost too. You have some promotion codes from RT. So you can make use of it 8)

Edit: Am not sure about Bluehost providing VPS though :\

    • I have to tell you, I also use BlueHost and I'm very disappointed. I loved BlueHost for about 6 months, but then my sites started dropping off-line on a daily basis. Admittedly, I was on a shared hosting account. The problem appeared to be either another user on my server eating all the bandwidth for 30 minutes each morning, or a scheduled cron job that killed the db server. Either way, it went on for 5 weeks, every morning for 30 to 45 minutes my database sites died. Static sites were great, but anything accessing the db server forget it.

BlueHost is great about answering their phone, they really do seem to be service driven (and you can't beat the price), and I hate to say anything bad about them, but I found myself in a position where I had to leave. I got up to the same week I was scheduled to hand a completed site over the my customer, how was I to tell them their site was ready but oh, you can't use it for 30-45 mins each morning after 9:00.

The original problem may or may not be BlueHosts fault, however, after 5 weeks of phone calls and e-mails and trouble tickets they could never determine the problem - they at least admitted there was a problem, but over a month of head scratching and no answers, I had to move on... I still have sites there, but none that are paid for by customers. Can't take the risk.

      Just thought you should know...
