I live in Turkey and I had a computer hardware site based on Mynxx, www.muhendispc.com
That site did not take hold and I am trying to change it to yet-another-hardware-review-forum site. I am using Zephyr at new.muhendispc.com and will make it the actual site after I finish.
In addition to a forum, I consider adding a community portal to it , it will help in making the site make stand out from the rest.
My host is Godaddy Linux Deluxe Grid and I can add 20 x 1GB MySQL databases to that account. Within 2 years the user count will reach 20,000 at maximum, if I reach more, I will be forced to host the site at more powerful hosts.
Which Joomla community application should I use ? Can they handle 20,000 to 100,000 users ? What is the practical user numbers they can support without breaking ? What kind of guidelines should I consider in terms of host, database, storage and bandwidth requirements ? Is there any good Joomla community sites that I can look at ?
