    • Hello RT Forum,
If this is duplicate post, or this type of documentation exists elsewhere, please let me know

I have been scouring the JomSocial and Rocket Theme Forums, however I have not found any concrete answers/solutions for several general and specific questions I am starting this thread in the hope that we can create "Best Practices" for RT and JomSocial:

      General Questions:

      Template Installation

I have seen confliction information on how to install 3rd Party Templates (including RT). Essentially I have seen instructions indicating that Templates via Joomla; and posts, including JomSocial posts that the templates should be loaded via FTP into the (/components/com_community/templates) directory.

What are the recommenced installation instructions?

      Configuring JomSocial Module Positions

Jomsocial includes several built in module positions. http://www.jomsocial.com/docs/Built-in_module_positions . As itemized below:
      • js_side_top
      • js_side_bottom
      • js_profile_bottom
      • js_profile_side_top
      • js_profile_side_bottom
      • js_profile_feed_top
      • js_profile_feed_bottom
      • js_groups_side_top
      • js_profile_top
      • js_groups_side_bottom
What are the recommended instructions for adding these module positions?
Does a Gantry based Template differ from a non-Gantry Based Template (i.e. Affinity)?

These are simply some of my curent questions, however I invite the forum to post questions, and solutions in the hopes of creating a "Best Practices" document.

    • Not sure if it's the correct way or not but I just typed in the jomsocial module position in Position: field of the module and made sure to select all for Menu Assignment. This will work to display a new module in the jomsocial template. Now styling that is a different ball of wax that I have yet to figure out. Currently the new added modules do not match the default modules on my site.

      example:
