Ok, I'm trying to figure out the HTML generated buttons that use the square brackets with 'readon' defining them.
I've not used them before, I like them, and I want to learn more and see what options there are with them but can't find info on them anywhere. I can't figure out what they are commonly known as, so my search efforts are floundering.
is this an HTML thing? a Joomla thing? a RT thing?

The square bracket code is the typography code when you're using RokCandy.
You can check the "Typography" menu link on any of the demos for the "HTML Typography" for the HTML code that's used with that template.

Ok, so you're making me work for it, eh? :cheesy:
That helped a little, I was wanting the bigger picture. So, for the uninitiated such as myself.
- Reviewing "Typography" led me to the realization that this is in association with RokCandy. (which I somehow totally missed in your comment above -- also realized that on the Article HTML field there is a RokCandy Macros button).
- Reading up on RokCandy lead me to uncover that it's BBcode.
Still not satisfied with the info, I turned to Google, now armed with better search terms.
- Ironically (Ben, ahem), it led me to a nicely written "how to..." by none other that one Mr. Ben Lee! :cheesy:
