    My review of Rockettheme products.

    • Hi Rocketeers,

I have been a member here at rockettheme for only a short time, but have experimented with almost all of rockettheme's products.

I find that Rockettheme.com provides some of the finest looking templates and themes available on the web. The graphics work is remarkable and the theme variations are quite nice.

      However,

I find, for my own use, that rockettheme is quite heavy on the detailed graphics side, and not so much on varieties and functional component differences. Each template comes with nice modifications to the company's core components, modules and plugins, but the number of configuration options are a bit too limited.

The graphics work is wonderful, but I think sometimes, it goes a bit too far in detail. I have noticed a trend lately in cyberspace where most cyber-junkies visit the simple and clean presentations more often than they do sites that are graphical works of wonder. I've polled many people who almost live on the web, and was told that the graphic wonder sites are great, for awhile, but they get old fast.

As a website builder, and I say that with reservations, I am wondering who will be the first to implement dynamic layout technologies where site layouts change either daily, weekly, monthly or annually, as an option in the back-end.

I do have criticisms about Gantry, in that it is a bit slower than a few of the other more user friendly frameworks, and I suspect that is an issue related to the cache-ing schema.

From my own personal opinion I think that rockettheme would do well to slow down on the intense graphical presentations and look more toward functional differences, and especially, automated dynamic layouts. I'd also suggest that rocket's premium modules, components and plugins be expanded to include a wider array of layouts options––wherever applicable.

The best part about rockettheme, from personal experience, is a higher level of stability than most other clubs. I can honestly say that if rockettheme releases it, it WILL work!

So far, the top 4 clubs I do business with are rated as follows:

      #1 Joomlart.com
      #2 Rockettheme.com
      #3 Gavick.com
      #4 joomlabamboo.com

Many thanks to rockettheme for making my learning experience with Joomla! a wonderful one. I only hope that 2011 holds many surprises for the members here. I couldn't live without Rockettheme.com.

      Walt.

    • All templates released by Rocket Theme have variations to suit any-person's needs. The Rocket Theme staff even takes the time to put the said functionality and variations into their demo-site! Although the "default" demo is usually the most "eye-catching" version, the graphical nature of each template can be altered/tailored to an individual's needs/taste. Furthermore, RT supplies all the source graphics for each template which allows for even more customization options!
I understand your point, I initially had the same point-of-view! But once I began to actually download and use the templates, I realized how much more each template had to offer!
Just my 2-cents.... your mileage may vary!
