Hey All.
I have decided to start my own web design company. Just something to do on the side. I have a friend that has a server hosting company. He wants to partner up but he offers $9.00 a month web hosting. I'm not all sure what it includes but Godaddy and HostGator prices are less. What is the going, average rate, for web hosting?

Stay away from Godaddy and, think long and hard about things before doing any "business" with a friend.

It depends on what you want to do. If you have a small site and do not intend for it to grow very large, then shared hosting from $7 to $9 a month seems right. I am paying $50 a month for VPS hosting with Hostgator and hope to grow my site to be somewhat large (some day).
