For some reason I decided to use WP as the blog on our site I am not the most popular person in the WP fanatic channels as I often point out the shortcomings of the platform and a WP user is almost as fanatical as us MAC users.
Anyway after setting up the blog I am yet again wondering why I did, the lack of functionality usability is already driving me nuts and I have only just installed and made the design changes to match the main site.
Per page or per blog post side bar functionality - this is giving me the needle, if I write a post on say a new product in the store (main site is e-commerce) then I want to pull in resources from the Mage store is that even possible on WP it seems not; you are still stuck with standard side bars with little ability to customise on a per page or post scenario. (am I missing something?)
The editor is just a pain in the preverbal, I am not a fan of WYSIWYDG (what you see is what you don't get)
Switch to code view and it is an unformatted mess, even if you lay out your HTML nicely WP just strips out your line formatting (Enter RT how about rokpad for WP)
Am I just a spoilt brat so used to the functionality of Drupal and Joomla or am I just ignorant of WP functionality I don't know about?
Hmmmm - me can see an big delete coming up and the installing of Joomla for the blog - anyone want to purchase my one day old WP club :cheesy:
I agree with you. I have used Wordpress installations many times over the years I even got into multi wordpress (M) and spent many weeks and dollars studying that version.
In the end I always ask myself why, when there is Joomla to use. If you have not seen it yet check out 'Easyblog' for Joomla. It's pretty good.
Easyblog looks interesting might have to check it out! I have been using Zoo on a couple of Joomla sites and that is not bad either after a little design massage.
