Introduction and a few questions

    • Hello everyone,

I have been silently surfing this forum now for a few days trying to decide if this was the site for me and today I made the choice to join. From what I have seen thus far I made the right choice ...

I have a few questions and would love it if someone could answer them for me :)

I know already (* to what seems a hot debate ) that to edit images you should be using fireworks ( Being a marketing / design major I am ok with this ) but I am also completely new to Wordpress so bare with me if you can :)

My question is this ... if you wanted to change a background image, and COULD do so in photoshop, once saved over the original file, if it was worded the same as the prior file - I would have to imagine those changes would take effect without having to code anything in the script(s) ... am I correct in thinking this way ?? I understand the need to use fireworks to edit ( Lets say ) text and such, but to edit a background image you should be able to bring the jpeg file into photoshop, edit, save and voila ... correct ?

Anyhoo ... much appreciated in advance for the members that help me answer this question ... I am still waiting for my godaddy account to DNS me, so I thought I would fart around with some imagery while I waited.

      Thanks Again!

      - TroutBum

    • As long as the file you are using has the same name and extension (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, etc.) and dimensions as the original, yes, that will work.
    • Thanks,
