Images disappear in articles?

Hi
I have been developing article posts and recently have seen that the images I place inside the articles appear inside the editor view but when you save and look in the article view, they have the box and the 'alt' tag name. No image, even though the size is there.
If you go to the editor again, refresh the image and save. I sometimes appears.
Can someone tell me what could be the issue and how to resolve it?
The only image related plug-in I have is Joomla Imagesized Plugin.

- have you tried turning off that plugin for a moment and see if it clears the problem ?.

I turned of the plugin and it seems to be OK.
However, the images are oversized now.
What I need is a plugin that works and can resize images to a standard size for articles, and proportional sizes for frontpage, blog layouts and two column layouts.
If you know one then that would be great!!
