Template doesn't work in J1.6

Hi
I had a template working on my old site and it has the extension j1_5 on it.
I have now updated to J1.6, but when I tried installing the template it created an install error.
As my subscription has ran out, how can I get the template to work in 1.6?

Basically, you can't.
J1.5 templates WILL NOT work on J1.6 installs.
Half a dozen or so templates have been converted at this point with others on the way...
You don't mention which template you are using, but in any case, they are being converted from newest to oldest, same as the J1.0 to J1.5 templates were.

Yes. Also, it's not "just" a small upgrade when you convert from 1.5 to 1.6.
One more thing, there are many broken things in Joomla 1.6 that we have to work with/against... - Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.
A template is only as good as the content that goes into it

'Basically' yes...
There is no business, company, cooperation, or enterprise (that I know of) that offers perpetual upgrades to their products.
Simply, MS released Office in 1997, 2000, 2003, 2007, 2010, and is planning a new release in 2012.
Since I bought Office '97 should MS give me a free upgrade to the latest version that is available each time a new version comes out?
I don't think so...
Each time I have upgraded (or decided not to) has been based on what new features are available and if they are worth the price.
The same is true for your Joomla upgrades.
If there is some new feature in J1.6 that you have to have, then you have to decide if it is worth the cost (either to you or your client) or if you can accomplish the same with a J1.5 template and 3rd party extensions.
Please note, while in your eyes it's the same template, there are a half dozen coders and another half dozen moderators working on getting the templates up to speed and bug free...
This doesn't happen overnight, nor is it free.
It's your choice...
