    Margins on floated images

Posted 14 years 2 weeks ago
    • This is a pretty basic question and may need to go over to the Joomla forum but I thought I would try here. In the past I have always created a style to float images left or right with margins. But my client is not advanced at all so I am wondering how I go about globally applying a float for when she puts an image into a article and then assigns it to align left or right. When doing that, the system puts in an inline style in the the img tag.
This image is hidden for guests.

The field for "horizontal space" puts margin on both sides of the image, I want it only on the opposite side of the float. For example, if floated (aligned) left, I want margin on the right.

So is there a better interface for adding images to articles that give the non-developer better positioning control over the images or is there a better way to put in CSS. Keep in mind, the the image may be aligned either left or right?

Here is the site and notice how the image is flush up against the content.

      many thanks,
      Houston

    • Hi Houston,

Have you tried a different editor such as JCE (Joomla Content Editor)?

It seems to be a bit more user friendly and intuitive for novices...
    • Thanks,
