    Newbie question

Posted 17 years 11 months ago
    • Hi,

If you have a webhosting account where you can have unlimited domains, and it has a c-panel with 1 click installation of Joomla, do you have a intall a new intance of Joomla on each new domain that you want to use joomla on? For separate sites.

      It sounds like you do.

      Thanks
      Kris

    • If they are for different sites yes. My personal domain has 5 installs of joomla, but I also made subdomains for them.

      Cheers,

      Mike

    • I'm leary about using Joomla auto-installers such as Fantastico.
For example, the Fantastico Joomla install at Hostgator puts the wrong path in the config.php which results in Joomla showing up after the install, but no graphics. :-\ An easy fix, but still...

Also, some auto-installers are not using the latest version of Joomla!.

      Cheers!

Yo James, I'm with hostmonster too... if you don't mind me asking...
I would appreciate your opinion on what is your preferred method of dealing with the register globals issue with their CPanel accounts?
      Many thanks.
