Yummy FTP not uploading some files, causing parse errors
Posted 14 years 1 day ago
Hi, I use yummy ftp for uploading Rocket Theme templates.
I do this with the Rocket Launcher, unzipped folder. Every time I do it, it misses some files (fails to upload random folders and files).
Yes, I have done a recent update for yummy ftp but I wanted to know if this is a conflict that other rocketheme users are having. Has anyone got any ideas on how to solve the issue?
Most of the files that fail to upload are "admin" files so I have to go back to the original RT folder and upload the specific file (thankfully the joomla/rocket theme error page tells me which file couldn't be found).
Typical error messages are:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/username/public_html/administrator/components/com_media/views/medialist/tmpl/thumbs_img.php on line 16

Your the first to report such an error with this FTP client.
I'd suggest trying a different client such as FileZilla, or better yet, uploading the zipped Rocket Launcher and extracting on your server, which would completely eliminate and missing or corrupt files, or permission changes.

Thanks Jem,
I didn't realize that you could unzip a zipped file once it is on the server. I thought it had to be unzipped first? Any secrets on how to unzip the file once it is on the server? Surely it isn't a simple double-click like it is on my desktop?
This will obviously make it quicker to upload in the first place (unzipped rocket launcher files currently take more than 2 hours to upload with yummy ftp!).
