Creating a Database for phpBB3 on localhost

- Simple as that yet I'm not knowledgable at all about DB stuff but I can understand what I'm told.
  
  How can I do it for my offline Joomla installation ? I already got RokBridge installed and only waiting for phpBB3 to be set up.

- You will want to create two databases, one for Joomla, one for phpBB3.

- which localhost server are you using?
  
  If you like you can share the same DB as your joomla install just make sure not to use the same DB prefix during setup. By default Joomla uses jos_ and phpbb uses (you guessed it (phpbb_) for localhost leaving the defaults is fine if you like but I always change mine as a matter of security.

  The link you've given has cPanel isntructions for database creation. On localhost, how am I supposed to use cPanel ?

  After you install it, you add DBs through phpMyAdmin.
  
  I believe the video walks you through creating a user and adding permissions.

- I got there easily with a click, thank you.
  
  Now what should I be careful with with while creating DB. I guess that box is for typing the name of the DB, should I include phpbb3_ prefix if so ?

- Nevermind, for the moment I've succeeded at installing phpBB3, way past creation of that database and privileges stuff etc. ^^

- Uh-oh.
  
  As soon as the forum was installed, my Joomla installation is no longer accessible. HTTP 500 Internal Server error.
  
  What did I just mess up ?

- I guess I know what I screwed up.
  
  I changed "root" user having password for the "forum", instead of creating a new user and password then entering that user's details in phpBB3 setup.
  
  I messed with very basic details of MySQL, if I'm not wrong.
  
  Is there any way I can revert to "root" user having no passwords ?
  
  And if I ever can do that, this time, phpBB3 will fail.
  
  Oh boy, what have I done ?
