Please see these screenshots.
Why is the menu bar doing this double menu bar thing? I edited the background image and the CSS to add in a button and space to add the button and this is what resulted....on certain resolutions
screen resolution 1600x1200 it does double menu bar
resolution 1440x1200 it does double menu

I suspect that the reason you can't view it is that your membership has expired.
You should really renew so you can access the members area (with template specific support)...

after mod'ing my style5.css, tempalte. css, fusionmenu.css, template-ie8.css, and gantry.css - i ended up restoring the site from a backup and rebuilding recent content that was added.
so i never found an answer to why this started happening in IE. previous to restore - i reinstalled a good copy of template and that didn't fix it either. ( a copy from a backup made prior to my 05-23-2011 changes ).

Just visited the site in FF and IE and apart from very slow loading I saw no problems. Does this mean you have now resolved this one?

Not really. I do know that sometimes IE can have some very unusual quirks when displaying stuff. Without seeing the actual resulting problem and being able to interrogate the css at the time, then it could have been anything.
