- I'm checking out templates for Joomla 1.6 and notice many require Gantry framework. I'm just a bit confused looking at the videos--if and when I install a template requiring Gantry, (1) will it be installed at the same time? and (2) the video showed Gantry should be the default...shouldn't the specific template be the default? Thanks for your help, DJ

Hi, the Gantry Framework can be installed before or after you install the template, but it must be installed before the template will work. Many of the templates have a "bundle" which has both and you can install them at the same time.
Not sure which video you saw, but there is a Gantry Template, which is separate from the Framework - that may have been what you saw. If you were using a different template you would select that as the default. Hope that helps. - The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.
