SOLVED Registered user cannot post article

I have setup a registered user with author, editor and then publisher permissions. In each case when I login and select "submit an article", the editor comes up and I can enter text, etc. Howver when I select the "save" button, nothing happens. No page loading, now redirect, no error, nothing.
I have selected a proper section and category for the article, entered some text and selected the publish radio box. It does nothing.
I logged in as admin and tried the same procedure with the same result. It just sit there as if I haven't done anything.
Anyone have any ideas?
UGGGGH. Tried the same thing in Firefox and it works. It seems 95% of my web development problems are Internet Explorer related or CAUSED! For some reason IE9 won't let me save the article. I had a similar problem on Facebook playing poker. Wanted to send a friend some chips and everytime I tried to enter an amount to send, the Flash form would just disappear. In FF it works.
