How to transfer website to another hosting provider

Hey all, I'm looking for suggestions on transferring a sub domain (for construction purposes) to a primary working live domain, on a different hosting account.
This is because I want to get it set-up and tweak it on MY hosting account before going live with it on a much more expensive hosting provider. By the way its a rt-magento template.
