    • So why is it, it seems, that template designers are given special treatment in terms of the license they can use? Do template designers work harder and longer hours on their templates than developers do on extensions? Are designers a very special breed of people in society that have special privileges because of some "creative license" invented at the dawn of time?

      Sure, to me they are special people with amazing skills but I would have thought that in the "GPL" and "Open Source Matters" framework that Joomla! operates under (phrases that I continue hearing from Core Team members), designers would not be treated differently from anyone else if they wanted to contribute to an open source project and be part of an open source community.

      Does Open Source Really Matter...?
