My site is hacked. HELP NEEDED REALLY BAD!

    • Hello,
My site is hacked. :'( As a matter of fact it uses mambo instead of joomla. However since I know that in here I can get much much better and sooner support I decided to write in here.

      Here is the site: www.johnqssteakhouse.com/

I LOG in as admin and I can not see anything wrong. I don’t know what I should do to fix it. However I see that when I click on the menu on MODULES, or COMPONENTS NONE OF THEM WORKS ANYMORE.

      I NEED HELP REALLY BAD

      Regards
      Indrit

    • Go to forums.joomla.org and look for the security sub-forum. Read the stickies. One of them details steps you should take to recover your site.

Bottom line... if you have a backup, you're good. Otherwise, you're in for some major pain.

Unzip and then upload the attached file to your site, the access the file via your browser. Use it to sort the files on your server by 'last modified date'. Investigate recent modifications that seem suspicious.

I can't really help much other than to say your best source of info is the joomla forums. I'm just a user like you, but you can find some experts at joomla.org.

Then again, have you tried the mambo forums?

    • How do you know you're hacked? Did they leave a message (defaced site) or another clue? Maybe it's the database spewing chunks.

Did you try restoring a backup of the site and database?

No matter what, use GollumX's advice.
