URL Freeze Trick ?

    • Is there a way I can make it so that when people navigate around on a joomla site, that the URL they see in the address bar stays the same the whole time (ie: www.yoursite.com ) so they won't be seeing things like ( yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_conten...iew&id=13&Itemid=178 )

I know I can use SEF URL's - but i'm integrating Amember in on my membership side of the website, and it clashes with SEF URL's with joomla and the .htaccess file - so I have to have SEF URLs disabled.

Having SEF URLs disabled - makes the URL's in the address bar look nasty.

I'm sure there's a way somehow to make your .com stay in the address bar the whole time the visitor is navigating.

Can someone help me out please ;D

    • While I don't think that having the standard Joomla URLs is particularly nasty, you could put the whole site in a frameset with only one frame. This would make the URL stay the same while navigating... but then, you would lose the ability to bookmark particular pages.

What about using just the standard Joomla SEF URLs. They aren't too bad or is Amember clashing with that too?

    • Thanks Phlux0r!

I haven't tried messing with the standard SEF URLs. I'll give that a whirl!

    • you could Ajax the entire thing. :D

A problem though is as Phluxor points out, you can't bookmark your page!
