mynxx virtuemart add to cart button only works on home page

    • Hello There,

Suddenly the add to cart button has stopped working on my website. It only works on the products displayed on the home page.

It has stopped working on the category browse page and the product details page. To resolve the issue a couple months ago when it was not working at all, I disabled the option to use Ajax to add, update, delete cart in the vm_mynxx theme configuration.

If I use the default template, it works. So its definitely something with the theme. Can anyone please help me. I am using version 1.5.8 of the Mynzz Tempalte. Vrituemart version 1.1.9 stable.

I am sure other users of this template must have had similar issues.

      regards
      Ankit

    • Hi there,

Without a link to your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.

Can you please post a link to the problem and we will do our best to assist you.

      Thanks :)

    • Hi Ankit,

So far all I can find is a warning in Firebug console which says...
      <div id="successIndicator" style="display:none;">Failure</div><div id="vmLogResult"><div ><div class="shop_warning"><b>Warning</b>: Please enter a valid quantity for this item.<br />
      </div></div></div>
Can you check to see that these items are set up correctly in VM.

      Thanks for your patience 8)

    • Hi Ankit,

Please be aware that support is provided for registered members with an active subscription.

Your site also 3rd party extensions installed. You should check to see what is running on pages other than your home page, where add to cart is working correctly.

      Regards

    • Hello David,

I understand that support is only for registered users. But this just randomly stopped working. No extensions have been installed since it stopped working. Also all the extensions are only active on the homepage where "add to cart" works.

Store and product details pages only have a couple standard extensions on the left sidebar. They existed when the button was working.

I have uninstalled a couple modules that were not being used, clear joomla cahce and still its not working.

      regards

    • Hi Ankit,

With the best will in the world, software does not randomly stop working. It is nearly always due to a change somewhere :cheesy:

Have you tried setting the mtupgrade plugin to Enabled?

    • Hello David,

I have enabled the mtupgrade plugin although i have read warning about it causing other stuff to fail.

what else can we try here.

      regards

    • I think the problem is solved. Here is what I did:

      1. Uninstalled myapi component, associated modules and plugins.
      2. Disabled KA Fanbox module.
      3. Uninstalled the huru helpdesk component.
      4. Cleared cache for page and fanbox.
      5. Disabled mootools upgrade plugin.

Since the helpdesk component was installed from day one, I am ruling that out.
So the culprit seems like myapi component and its files. Or could be KA fanbox module.

Will monitor the site for next couple of days to see if the changes have fixed it for sure.

thank you David for the pointers.

      regards
      Ankit
