I am a loving rockettheme user and have had several years (?!) a subscription.
Right now the subscription is expired and since I am looking in other things, than Webdesign I want to let the account expired ;(
However, I was updating some Site to Joomla 2.5 and to be sure, that they work I wanted to upgrade the templates to the newest version (which I have not done right away... lazy me..). I was wondering if I could download them and I simply couldn't.
I thought upgrades are free (forever?!).
In that particular case I wanted to download (all) the updates for Moxy Sep. 2009 Template.
So. Is this a bug or a feature that I can't download any updates for templates?
according to the
Terms of Service
during the membership term, full access will be provided to the templates and the forums. After membership has expired, download access is removed, and forum access is limited, entitlement rights continue however.
What happens when my RocketTheme Club Membership expires?
Once your RocketTheme Club Membership expires, you will no longer have access to the template and style download sections, the member support forums, or new template, style and extensions releases.
The entitlements included in your membership are not time limited, so you can continue using the templates, themes, and styles on the sites you set up 'during' your membership, even after your membership has expired. However, you must renew your membership in order to receive additional entitlements and set up new sites using RocketTheme templates, themes, and styles.

A template is only as good as the content that goes into it - DanG
Just an observation: I was looking to upgrade my Terran Tribune site that I've had up for years. So, although my subscription has expired, I naturally assumed I could still get an update of the template because, after all, I am still a member and I did pay for it once (among others purchases), and it just seems fair that Rockettheme would offer updates for Joomla! developers who are clients/customers--current and former. Apparently, I was wrong. It just does not seem fair that we have to pay for the same assets twice, simply because, at no fault of the developers, Joomla! decides to update their platform and the folks at Rocketthmeme don't see it the same way.
A Joomla! upgrade is an obvious boon for Rockettheme, but costly for members/former subscribers. In order to take advantage of the Joomla! platform upgrade, due to incompatibility issues, we are forced to pay again just to maintain the site and template we've already purchased.
I have no problem renewing my subscription however, at this point I will only renew to get the template I need to migrate my site and then I will move on from Rockettheme.
As a business person, I understand you need and should make a profit. On the other hand, doing business at the expense of members is bad business.
