Awesome. I love the new replicant or whatever and versitile, amazing design skills on these two especially and I cant wait to use them. I have a lot of problems with the current incarnations of Joomla and was wondering do you guys have plans for supporting other systems?
If not what about perhaps a tutorial on the best practices of migrating a theme to say Drupal. I bet alot of Drupal devs would jump at the chance to get their hands on some real themes as the Drupal theme scene is approximately terrible.
I spent last night converting the majority of Versatility III to Drupal and it was been brutal, not for any reason of particular blame on either side but just different ways of going about things. If I had a deeper understanding of all of Drupals class names and settings it wouldn't be so trial and error.
So heres a question i could seem to figure out, Once I get done with this conversion is it possible to provide it to other Rocket Theme members that want to use it for Drupal, if so, how?
I know the last thing you need is to be supporting a hacked version of one of your templates..
Okay so about half way through just hacking away on your template to the point that it was barley any of the original markup I realized that I can in Drupal overide the styles and elements it renders via the theme engine rather then modify your styles which may sound backwards at first but I think in this case it makes sense.
So I have gone back to square one to build it as much from the ground up as possible as an override. Hopefully the advantage of this will be not only a closer version overall but much faster porting of future themes, it might also mean that custom overrides will have to be built for every module installed in which case.. crap.
Just figured i would provide an update in case any one else is attempting this or has advice in regards to the process.
