Very Convoluted Theme - Modulus

I hate to say this but I just purchased Modulus the other day and it is by far the most convoluted theme/framework to use that I have ever seen... Your stuff looks great, and it's on the 960gs, which is why I bought it, but holy cow ... Is everything done via widgets?
I'm a strong proponent of the 960gs but am sorry that I bought into this theme now as knowing the 960gs inside and out does not seem to help you get a leg up on the functionality of this theme. I set it up and everything works, but unfortunately you have to set it up and then reverse engineer the working model in order to be able to even use it ... I could never drop this in a client's lap, compared to other themes and frameworks which are way easier to manage.
Sorry guys, I know you all put a lot of time into it. I'll keep trying to figure it out for a few days but nothing should be this difficult to a seasoned WordPress developer/user/webmaster. If I have a major breakthrough, I'll definitely post it ...
