Clarion no menu in IE8,7&6

Hello
I have been working on a site for a doctor, I used Joomla 2.5 and the Clarion Template. The website looks exactly the way it should in Internet Explorer 9, chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. But it is not working correctly in IE6, 7 or 8.
The menu is gone, and the site is aligned to the left.
I noticed there are CSS files that are called template-ie6.css, template-ie7.css , template-ie8.css
inside the template.
I have no clue where to start fixing this issue.
Also can I or how do I remove the tag "designed by Rockettheme"?
Please help.

Hi there,
To remove the designed by Rockettheme you need to turn off branding in the template admin and also change the text in the copyright box in the template admin.
The problem you are having with IE is because your site is generating Quirks mode. You will need to check to see if anything has been added to the template to cause this as the default template works just fine in IE7,8 & 9. You can read more here - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quirks_mode
As for IE6 it is dead and buried so stop considering it. Not even supported by Microsoft now. :cheesy:

I seem to have an installation issue with the template, I dont have any options in the template admin page, is there a way to remove it in the css files or php files?
IE Error:
Quirks mode? SO I have to look for a plugin that started this problem?
Where do I start?
I only added a few plugins, a content editior and 2 email forms.

Hi there,
If you have an installation issue with the template then that could also be the cause of quirks mode being selected by the browser.
Have you checked the system information > directory permissions to see they are all writable?

I checked with Mediatemple, my hosting provider. No permission issues, all writable.
I installed this template via rocketlauncher.
Should I try uninstalling the template and reinstalling just the template?

Hi there,
Did you apply rocketlauncher to a pre-existing site? It is only meant for brand new sites.
For existing sites that have already got installed then use the standalone template. If the site has never had Gantry installed then use the template bundle as that will include Gantry.

I applied rocketlauncher on a brand new site, no other data was there.
I think for now I will have to deal with the IE problems, but can you tell me in which css or php file, I can disable the "designed by rockettheme" text. Since I cant disable it in the template admin page.

Hi there,
If you cannot disable it in the template admin then the template is either installed incorrectly or your hosting setup is not suited. This means that you will continue to have problems with other areas of the site.
Can you PM me with a temporary Super Admin access please and I will take a look to see what the cause may be.

It looks like your initial installation had a problem. I tried updating Joomla and Gantry to see if it would reset but it says there is a database issue.
My advice at this point would be to start again as I have no way of knowing what part of the installation failed.
I would install RocketLauncher and then check the template admin works. Then update Joomla and gantry to latest versions using the Joomla Update feature.
It is worth noting that your php setting for maximum file size is just 2M which is rather small these days. Get your host to increase that to 8M or even 12M.
