Seeking template suggestions for sports site

    • Hi there,
I need to set up a fairly big sports site in quite a hurry for a fairly big professional football (soccer) club, and I'm wondering if people here might have any suggestions.
The site is going to be quite busy. It will need to incorporate match reports, previews, club news, stats, fixtures, player profiles, betting odds, features, audio, video, sponsors, fundraising, and -- potentially the biggest of all - a youth section. Medium term, possibly club online shop, ticket sales. And advertising.
I'd like to be able to have a choice as to whether we register users for special content at a future date. My main problem right now is graphics. I think we will be quite well served with other content.
I've looked superficially at some of the templates. I like the look, feel and apparent busyness of Versatility, Vortex, and Sporticus. But I don't want to start out only to find there is a better match for my needs.
      Any thoughts?

    • Sporticus would be a great fit.

    • I would only suggest you to take some of the templates, install some of the stuff you need, and test it. You will never find anything that will suit your need, when you got a large list.

At a point, when to incorperate so much into the site, I honestly don't think "busy" is the correct stance to be in. It needs alot of prep before release.

      Have you checked out Sporticus?

    • I've looked at Sporticus. It's amazing, and to be honest it seems ideal. My main concern, though, is that I might overlook something that might go a bit further.
I'm not sure I understand the comment concerning busyness. My thinking on it is that a lot of sites, including some RT templates, can have a cool, static character. I am looking for a home page that reflects vibrancy and shows that there's a whole lot going on. It's entertaining in itself. Sporticus certainly gives that.
I'll be perfectly honest and even philistine here. I would love to be able to prep this for a few months, but the site is in crisis and needs a very quick fix! Flexibility to change things around on the fly and after some mature consideration will also be important.
