Is it possible to set up a "Page" template in Joomla 2.5?

This question is not specific to RT templates;
I just know there are scads of experienced Joomla users here that may be able to answer it...
And I can't seem to locate a specific reference in Joomla's forums.
Does Joomla 2.5 provide a means of setting up a "Page" template?
My client is now adding content to their new site. Each new page consists of a new article, a new module specific to that article and a new menu item. If that were all there was to it, we'd be golden. But we now also have to assign all the other modules that we want to appear on that page.
It wouldn't be such a big deal if they hadn't come from a Microsoft "Live" website, where page templating like I'm talking about was built in. So in comparison, Joomla seems tedious to them.
Is there something I'm missing in 2.5? Perhaps an extension I should look into?

- Thanks for your comment, Yaani-Mai. Cool extension. Although I've yet to find the ability to template a page layout. I have messaged them about it though, with crossed fingers.
