Should I keep updating?

Hi,
I have a site using an old theme - wp Quantive.
What I want to know is whether or not I should update Gantry and the other Rok plugins
or would this crash the theme?
I have experienced errors coming up at the top and bottom of the site saying session start issues with gantry/features on line 148 etc
so I've had to completely deactivate the Rockettheme!
This has happened a few times on different installs in different databases so it's not isolated.
i may be the common denominator though so maybe I mess stuff up!! lol
Please help.

or eatmovelive.tv
and I normally start with a rocketlauncher and then edit from there.
