    EDITOR VS LIVE SITE VIEW

Posted 12 years 11 months ago
    • hi
      i have the Maelstrom template.

when i enter text (editor) and insert images i have 2 issues:
      1. if the few images are next to each other after saving, in live site it looks vertical- one after another instead.

      2. if i upload larg image and resize it in the editor, in live site it still looks big.

those 2 issues are related - what i see in editor is not what i get.

      please help.

      thanks
      GW

    • Hi, the editor does not use the style sheet seen on the front end of the site, so it will always look different in the editor than it does on the front. This has nothing to do with the template, I would consult the documentation for the editor to learn what you need to do. If you're trying to resize images, you'll need to check in code view to make sure the changes you are making are adding the correct styles to the HTML.

WYSIWYG editors on websites generate code behind the scenes, which is then output on the website. While the interface may look similar to Word or a text editor, it works differently and sometimes will not generate the correct code to do what you are after. Unfortunately, there isn't any editor I've seen that eliminates the need to know a bit of HTML in all cases.
