{Solved} 2nd template does not completely install

  • {Solved} 2nd template does not completely install

    • Hi, I have a site running J 1.5.25, Gantry 2.5.6, with RT Quantive installed. When I install a second template, it doesn't appear to completely install. When I try to open the template (I've tried 3), the template is missing most parts and there's this error message below. Here I've installed RT Clarion.
      The parameter file /templates/rt_clarion_j15/params.ini is writable!

      Warning: require_once(/home/skagitbe/public_html/libraries/joomla/html/parameter/element/fonts.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/skagitbe/public_html/components/com_gantry/admin/elements/chain.php on line 41

      Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/skagitbe/public_html/libraries/joomla/html/parameter/element/fonts.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/skagitbe/public_html/components/com_gantry/admin/elements/chain.php on line 41

      I have updated to J 1.5.26. Uninstalled clarion and reinstalled it. Problem continues.

      Doesn't matter which template I install, I get the same message.

    • Did your hoster change something on your server account as it's highly unlikely that you were able to install Quantive at some point but are no longer able to install templates now. Unless both templates you tried to install are corrupted downloads from our site or when you tried to FTP the contents up to your server. I don't think that likely though.

      Sounds like a ownership or permissions issue. Please Check your folder permissions here:
      Admin -> Site -> System Information -> Directory Permissions to ensure there writable.

      Also make sure that these match:
      Admin -> Site -> Global Configuration -> Server -> Server Settings -> Path to Temp-folder -> my-path/tmp
      Admin -> Site -> System Information -> Configuration File -> Server Settings ->tmp_path = my-path/tmp

      Lastly, which do you have -> Admin -> Site -> System Info -> System Info ->
      Web Server to PHP interface apache2handler -or- CGI / FastCGI ?

    • I've just spent the last hour going through everything and found the problem... which led to another problem. But, I discovered that my new template required a later version of Gantry. I have installed it and can now get into the template via admin.

      Thanks for all your suggestions. Glad I didn't need to go there.

      The new problem is I guess I don't understand how to assign the new template to specific menu items. I'll post a new thread for that issue, I guess. I can't seem to make the menu item 'stick' if you will to the new template.

    • That is a little help. though I have j1.5. Okay... In the new template, I have assigned a menu item in RTHalcyon while RTQuantive is the default template. The page I assigned in Halcyon shows with different colors, but shows with the Quantive template. And, the menu item shows as custom settings in BOTH templates now.

      I'm batting Zero here :(
      So I take it with the checkmark and [SOLVED], such a clever fellow as you has resolved this without my help :oops:
