SOLVED "Read More" without using the joomla default

Posted 12 years 10 months ago
    • Hello,

I am using the Modulus template, with roktabs in the showcase, all in joomla! 2.5.4.
I am trying to figure how to add a "read more" button without using the joomla! system default, as I want to customize the text and the href.

Here is what I have tried so far:

      - Used the alternate read more text under the article advanced administration, to accomplish the change in text. The text did not change, and linking the system "read more" button is not possible.

      - Used a class="readon" - I was able to change the text and add a link - but the colors did not work correctly. This is the closest I have gotten to achieving this.

For what I am trying to accomplish I am going to have to utilize two articles, one where the customized "read more" button would be, which would be rendered within roktabs/showcase; and a second article where I can expand, and the "read more" button would direct you.

I just need to figure how to render the button correctly. Anyone know how to deal with this?

      Thanks,

    • Try pasting this where you want the button to go:
      <a href="some_link_goes_here" class="readon"><span>button text goes here</span></a>
Be careful, some editors in Joomla will strip out html when you add it in WYSIWYG mode. You may have to switch to an html or code view and then past it.
