I see there is a security update of the Magento extensions (the Zend vulnarability).
I try to download these but it asks me for my subscription which expired in July 2012.
These are not additional features but a patch for security issue. Can't I download this?
All membership downloads are subject to a valid subscription as laid out in our Terms of Service when you joined. To obtain any updates you will need to have a membership subscription.

There's actually no specific theme fixes needed, so you can simply replace the 2 core files affected via ftp, with the new 1.7.0.2 versions. Locations are:
STEP 1 IN MAGENTO DEVELOPMENT - DISABLE YOUR CACHE OR YOU WON'T SEE ANY CHANGES.
Use the new "secure" tab when replying for privately sharing links.
