RT Templates Master feature change in the gantry 4.0

Hi!
The Gantry 3. was a simple management system template styles. One pattern as the master and then inherited styles. If something changed in the style of Master I was sure that the other styles of manifold changes. Simple, understandable and quickly.
The Gantry 4. we change the thinking of the "inherited" the master to "override". Now if I change something in the master I have to manually change all the styles based on the master.
According to me it's a lot more work and confusion.
What was the reason for such a significant change?

The overrides haven't changed at all.
The settings from the master are inheriting into the styles.
Only settings that are "checked" in the overrides are altered ...

hi there,
not sure if i might be misunderstanding your problem. do you have an exact example of which settings those were? i just tried zephyr, master has logo on, override is set to all pages but home and has the logo set to off. this works fine. then i changed the master to use a different preset and also the override pages are using this new preset style correctly. so seems to work as it should. i do not have to manually edit the override to also use the new preset.
