So I was going to do a little meta work today on my site and I get in there and click on update my joomla version...Ahhh, don't push the red button because you're site will crash...and her did.
Anyway..it said that the latest joomla version is incompatible with php 5.2...ok so it takes your site down if you try and update to the version. Damn.
I figured out how to get to php v 5.3 but it was too late ...my site is already bricked. I have lost faith in akeeba and hostgator did a restore and that didnt even fix it (might have done the backup a titch too late)
I'm essentially ranting and raving and not necessarily looking for specific advice, but if you have some go for it!
Commerce Site with Metropolis magento 1.7- Wood Signs
Thanks Nancy, that is the site, but I'm all fixed up.
Here's what happened:
I tried updating my joomla version (to the most recent) from my admin while running php 5.2 and it seemed to have broke the site. I tried adding the php 5.3 version line to my .htaccess and it didn't help..still broke.
So I ran an akeeba restore site. I have to say I like akeeba pro again. If you have amazon S3 enabled for backups (which I do) you can clear your site directory and install kickstart pro, and then import site backups from amazon S3...shazzza! that is slick! This is gold for someone on limited bandwidth and speed.
